Gmail Motion – A New Way to Communicate

I love this new feature from Google. Gmail Motion lets you interact with your e-mail with gestures and movements instead of your old-fashioned keyboard.

The mouse and keyboard were invented before the Internet even existed. Since then, countless technological advancements have allowed for much more efficient human computer interaction. Why then do we continue to use outdated technology? Introducing Gmail Motion – now you can control Gmail with your body.

Among the benefits touted on the Gmail website:

  • intuitive, gesture-based interface is very easy to learn
  • improved productivity
  • increased physical activity

A video introducing the new feature, cites several experts, including a paralanguage expert and a movement specialist.

“No longer will you be subjugated to the constraints of the technology in the way we have been used to,” says movement specialist Lorraine Klayman.

Gmail is understandably excited about this daring new enhancement to their e-mail service.

I really like your website! Thanks for all the blog posts. I know from experience just how deadly poor posture can be. I have been working consciously for about two years to correct mine, and while it’s not perfect, it is certainly much better, and I FEEL like a new person!
